What we collect and why
Quote requests
When you send a quote request we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), country of residence, the jurisdiction and services you are interested in, your type of business, your timeline, your message, the firm profile or page you sent it from, the time of sending and a shortened version of your IP address (the last part is removed). We use this information to read your request, select firms that offer the services you asked for in that jurisdiction, and forward your request to them so they can contact you.
Legal basis: the processing is necessary to take the steps you ask for before any contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and you give your consent to the forwarding when you tick the consent box (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us; this does not affect forwarding that has already happened.
Firm enquiries ("Join Accountanty")
When a firm writes to us we receive the firm name, country, the sender's name, role, email address, phone number and message. We use them to answer, and to create or correct a profile. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the directory and answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where a listing is agreed, steps towards that agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Firm profiles
Profiles describe businesses and are written from information the firms publish about themselves. Where a profile mentions a person, for example a founder named on the firm's own website, we rely on our legitimate interest in describing the firm accurately (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Anyone named can ask for a correction or removal at the address above.
Visiting the site
The site uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking tools, and loads no fonts, maps or scripts from other companies. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and operation, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); these logs are kept for a short period set by the provider.
Who receives your data
- Selected firms. A quote request is forwarded only to firms that we consider suitable for it, in the jurisdiction you chose. Each firm that receives it becomes a separate controller for the data from that point and handles it under its own privacy policy.
- Our hosting and email provider (Hostinger), which hosts the site, the request log and the mailbox for us as a processor under a data processing agreement.
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some jurisdictions on Accountanty are outside the European Economic Area, for example the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas. When your request concerns one of them, it is forwarded to firms there. Where the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision for that country, the transfer relies on it. Otherwise the transfer is necessary to take the steps you asked for, and you consent to it when you send the request (Article 49(1)(a) and (b) GDPR); data protection rules in those countries may offer less protection than in the EU.
How long we keep it
Quote requests and firm enquiries are kept for 24 months from the day they are received and then deleted, both from the request log and from the mailbox. If a firm becomes a client of Accountanty, the data needed for that relationship is kept for as long as the law requires (for example for accounting records).
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to info@accountanty.com; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or to the data protection authority where you live or work.
Giving us your data is voluntary, but without a name, an email address and the details of your request we cannot forward it. We make no decisions about you by automated means.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. The request log is stored outside the public part of the web server and is readable only by us.

We will update this page when our processing changes, and change the date at the top.
