Active since 1971, COGEP describes itself as the eighth largest accounting, advisory and audit group in France, with around 200 offices and more than 3,100 employees. Its English-language arm, COGEP International, presents itself as an English-speaking professional services firm aimed at foreign companies and international investors who want to do business in France, and the group is a member of HLB International, whose partners it works with on cross-border matters. Chartered accountants handle bookkeeping and management reporting, while tax specialists cover corporate and personal taxation, including obtaining tax and VAT numbers, filing VAT returns and transfer pricing documentation. Payroll and HR teams manage employer registration, payslips and social security returns, and statutory auditors carry out audit and assurance mandates. Legal and M&A work is handled by group law firms. The group is headquartered in the Lyon area and also has a listed office in Nice. Agriculture is a declared speciality.
