View profile of CERALPLyon has 26 firms on Accountanty, the second-largest French list after Paris. Twenty-two are accounting firms and four are law firms; no corporate service provider is listed in the city. The size mix is unusual for France: 11 Lyon firms are medium-sized, ten are small and five belong to large networks, so the list leans towards practices with more than a handful of staff.

Real estate is named by nine Lyon firms and the liberal professions by six. Start-ups appear three times under one spelling and twice under another, and e-commerce is named by three. Technology, hospitality, furnished rentals, industry, service companies, healthcare, and associations and foundations are each named by two. Single firms mention pharmaceuticals, tourism and commerce, so a manufacturer or a laboratory can look for an adviser who names its field.
The structures named by Lyon firms are broad. The SARL leads with eight, the SAS and the SCI have seven each and holding companies six. Four firms work with subsidiaries and four with branches. Two each name the SASU, the EURL, the SNC partnership, the civil company and the commercial company, and single firms handle the micro-entreprise, the EI for sole traders, the non-profit association and the representative office. A foreign group that wants a French subsidiary in Lyon has four firms naming that work, plus four that count French subsidiaries of foreign groups among their clients.
All 26 Lyon firms offer tax compliance and 22 offer accounting. Payroll is listed by 18, VAT and audit by 17 each, and company formation and corporate secretarial work by 16 each. Audit is offered by about two-thirds of the Lyon list, a higher share than in Paris, which matters if your company or group will need its accounts audited. Four Lyon firms support residence permits and visas, more than in Paris, and two help open a bank account. The Lyon firms listed do not offer a virtual office, so plan for an address from another provider if you need one.
SMEs are named by eight Lyon firms as a client group. French subsidiaries of foreign groups and start-ups are named by four each. Non-residents, business owners, the liberal professions, entrepreneurs and private individuals each appear three times, and foreign companies setting up in France, company directors, founders and small businesses twice. Eighteen of the 26 Lyon firms say they focus on foreign clients.
In Lyon, 21 firms advise in French and 17 can take a client through the work in English. Italian is the third language, with eight firms: almost half of the 17 Italian-speaking firms listed in France are in Lyon, and the Italian-speaking accountants page shows them all. German follows with five and Spanish with four, and one firm each works in Russian and Portuguese.
Several Lyon firms state registration with the Ordre des Experts-Comptables for Rhône-Alpes or Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the regional council of chartered accountants. One names membership of the statutory auditors’ association, and among the law firms one states admission to the Lyon Bar. Seven firms give a founding year, with the oldest from 1948 and the median from 1978, an older list than in Nice. Two Lyon firms publish prices.
With medium-sized practices the largest group, ask a Lyon firm how many people will work on your file and who your day-to-day contact is. If you need audit as well as bookkeeping, ask whether the same firm can do both or whether independence rules require a second firm. One firm in Craponne is shown on the France page, which also covers the setup steps, and the audit and company formation pages list firms across the country. Compare Paris and Nice as well, or reach several Lyon firms with one quote request through Accountanty.
Twenty-six: 22 accounting firms and four law firms. Eleven are medium-sized, ten small and five part of large networks, and 18 of them say they focus on foreign clients.
Yes. Eight Lyon firms work in Italian, nearly half of the 17 listed in France. Five also offer German and four Spanish, alongside French from 21 firms and English from 17.
Seventeen of the 26 Lyon firms list audit, and one names membership of the statutory auditors' association. If the same firm keeps your books, ask whether it may also audit them or whether a separate auditor is needed.
None of the 26 Lyon firms lists a virtual office. Fourteen Paris firms do, so a company that needs a registered address before it has premises may have to arrange it with a separate provider.
