About Newtone

Newtone was formed in 2024 through the merger of Koenen en Co, HLB Witlox Van den Boomen and PKF Wallast, and now counts more than 1,100 employees across thirteen offices in the Netherlands, including its Rotterdam branch in Capelle aan den IJssel. The firm is a member of the HLB international network while trading under its own name. Alongside its Dutch client base of SMEs, family businesses and wealthy individuals, it runs an English-language international section for companies doing business in the Netherlands, addressing businesses that are just starting out in the country as well as established multinationals. For these clients it offers accounting, audit and assurance, tax advice, employment and global mobility services, including Dutch payroll for employers based abroad, A1 certificates, application of the expat regime for staff hired from abroad and an international payroll platform. Legal and notarial work, including matters around setting up entities, is handled through a strategic alliance with a partner law and notary firm.

Services

Core services are accounting and compilation of annual accounts, statutory audit and assurance, corporate and personal tax advice and returns, and business advisory. Payroll services process over 50,000 payslips a month and cover Dutch payroll for foreign employers, cross-border employees, A1 certificates, the expat regime and an international payroll platform. Further lines include global mobility, HR advice, corporate finance, subsidies, family wealth planning, IT audit and ESG reporting, with legal and notarial support through an allied law and notary firm.
