Virtual office in Georgia

A company registered in Georgia needs an address in the country. The Law on Entrepreneurs says that the legal address of an entrepreneur is its actual address in the territory of Georgia, and the registry may ask for the owner’s consent or a document confirming the right to use the premises. For a founder working remotely, a virtual office is a way to meet that requirement without renting a desk, and to receive official mail.

Not every arrangement is equal. Ask whether the address is one where the firm is entitled to let you register, whether post is scanned and forwarded, and who receives notices from the Revenue Service. Ask what happens to the address if you stop the service, since the registered address has to be changed at the registry first. Some firms bundle the address with company formation and bookkeeping; others sell it alone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a virtual office as my company's legal address in Georgia?

The legal address must be an actual address in Georgia, and the registry may require the premises owner's consent. Ask the provider to confirm in writing that the address can be used for registration.

Is post forwarded abroad?

Practices differ. Some firms scan and email the letters, others hold them for collection. Ask how official notices are handled, because they have deadlines.
