View profile of Higgs & JohnsonA virtual office in the Bahamas gives a company an address, mail handling and sometimes a phone answering service without renting premises. For an IBC, the registered office already comes with the licensed provider: the Securities Commission’s sectoral risk assessment describes registered-office services as standard in the corporate services segment. A virtual office is something extra: a business address for letters, banks and customers.
Before you sign, ask whether the address can appear on invoices and your website, how mail is scanned or forwarded, and whether meeting rooms are available when you visit. Keep in mind that an address alone is not a business presence: a company that actually trades in the Bahamas still needs a business licence, and substance rules look at real activity.
Four firms on Accountanty offer virtual office services in the Bahamas: three corporate services providers and one law firm. Their client lists include high net worth individuals, multinational companies, global law and accountancy firms and local entrepreneurs, and the structures they name most are trusts, Bahamian companies and mutual funds. All four are in Nassau. For the full set-up, start with the country guide or company formation.

No. An IBC's registered office is provided by its licensed registered agent as part of the formation. A virtual office is an additional service giving the company a business address and mail handling, which some owners use for banks and customers.
Not by itself. An address does not show that the company runs a business locally. If your company trades in the Bahamas it needs a business licence, and substance reporting looks at actual activity, so ask a firm what your company really needs.
