View profile of aperioEvery Irish company has statutory housekeeping: officers to appoint, changes to record and filings to make. The Companies Registration Office states that a company must update its register within 14 days of a change to its directors or secretary, using Form B10. A single-director LTD company must also have a separate person registered as secretary, so a firm often takes the role.
For a foreign owner, corporate secretarial work usually covers acting as company secretary, keeping the statutory registers, filing the annual return, and supplying a registered office address in the State. Ask which of these are in the fee, and whether the firm will act as secretary or only prepare filings for you to sign. Check whether it offers a registered office and what happens to official post.
Read each profile for the entity types handled, since a company limited by guarantee or a designated activity company can need different paperwork than a private limited company. Where a firm declares that it is a registered agent with the Companies Registration Office, the profile shows it.
Accountanty lists 120 firms offering corporate secretarial services in Ireland: 110 accounting firms, 9 corporate services providers and one law firm. They include 104 small firms, 9 large networks and 7 medium, and 52 serve foreign clients. Start with the Ireland guide for the full set-up path.

View profile of Barrett O'Connor & Co. Chartered Accountants & Registered AuditorsYes, an Irish company needs a registered secretary, and a single-director private company needs someone other than that director. Firms commonly provide the role. Ask what duties they accept and what they charge.
Typically changes to officers, the yearly annual return and other notices to the Companies Registration Office. Ask for a list of the filings the fee covers and the notice they need from you for each.
Many do. The address must be a physical location in the State. Check how post is handled and whether the firm will forward official letters to you abroad.
