View profile of MavensmarkTax compliance in Qatar means corporate income tax and withholding tax, with no VAT return to file. On the mainland the General Tax Authority taxes income at 10%, with a minimum of 35% for petroleum operations and petrochemical industries, and the return goes in through its Dhareeba system within four months of the end of the tax year. A foreign partner pays tax on its share of profit while a Qatari partner’s share is exempt. Withholding at 5% applies to certain payments to non-residents and must reach the authority before the 16th day of the following month.
QFC companies follow their own calendar: they register with the QFC Tax Department once licensed and file no later than six months after the end of the tax accounting period. Late filing with the GTA costs QAR 500 a day, capped at QAR 180,000, according to its investors guide.
Ask a firm which authority it files with, who holds your portal access, and how it checks payments abroad for withholding. Accountanty lists 26 firms for tax compliance in Qatar: 16 accounting firms, nine corporate service providers and one law firm. Twelve focus on foreign clients. See Doha, Lusail and the Qatar guide.

No. The General Tax Authority states that Qatar has not applied VAT, so a company there files income tax and withholding returns but no VAT return. Your firm should still check any VAT exposure in other countries you sell to.
It registers with the QFC Tax Department instead of the General Tax Authority and has a longer filing window. Ask your adviser to confirm which regime applies before the first year ends.
Usually the audited financial statements, details of payments to suppliers abroad and any contracts signed with the State. Ask the firm for its year-end checklist early so the return is not delayed.
