Founded in 1993 by Turgay Sağdıç, who had practised accounting since 1982, Etkin works today under the SmartTax name from the Ostim industrial zone in Yenimahalle, Ankara. Its English pages list the foundation of domestic and foreign companies, subsidiaries and liaison offices, and of permanent representative offices, both in the accounting department and in the consultancy menu, which also offers advice on residence and work permits for foreign workers. The accounting team keeps statutory books, handles social security procedures, revises records, reports under international accounting standards and analyses financial statements. Tax work covers ongoing advice, preparation for and support during tax audits, settlement procedures and tax litigation files, while corporate services include general assemblies, mergers, valuations, liquidation, bankruptcy and concordat advice. An audit line provides independent external audit, consolidation and internal control reviews. The site gives no headcount or published fees.
