View profile of İhtisas Mali Müşavirlik A.Ş.Tax compliance is the part of running a Turkish company that comes with fixed dates and penalties for missing them. A company owned from abroad has the same kinds of obligation as a local one: a corporate return on its profit, withholding on salaries and on some payments, VAT where its sales are taxable, and other duties tied to particular documents or transactions. For the 2025 and 2026 periods the Revenue Administration lists a corporate tax rate of 25% for most companies, with other rates for banks, exporters and some manufacturers under conditions set in the law. Its notices (GİB is the Turkish name) come in Turkish, so the practical question for a foreign owner is who files each return, who reads the notices and who answers them.

View profile of Mavioglu & Alkan Law Office (ADMD)Ask for the filing calendar for your company’s first year, with every return, its due date and the person who submits it. Some firms state a licence title such as SMMM or YMM, so ask which title the firm holds and what it allows the firm to sign for you. Ask how it treats payments from Turkey to your parent company or to you, such as dividends, service fees or interest, and whether it will work with your adviser at home on the double taxation position. Ask what happens if the tax office opens an inquiry, and whether that work is in the fee.
Every one of the 90 firms on Accountanty in Turkey offers tax compliance: 80 accounting firms, five law firms and five corporate service providers. Seventy-seven are small, eight part of large networks and five medium-sized. Fifty have a foreign-client focus, 58 offer English and nine German. By city, 49 are based in Istanbul and 28 in Ankara. Compare them with the firms for VAT in Turkey and payroll in Turkey.
In general, yes. The obligations follow the company's legal form and activity, not the nationality of its owners. A firm can set out which returns apply to your company and when each one is due in the first year.
Under Law No. 3568, an SMMM keeps books and prepares financial statements and returns, while a YMM carries out certification work and may not keep accounting books. Ask whether your company needs certification and which firm provides it.
The company does, at its registered address and through any electronic channel it uses. Agree with your firm who checks both, how quickly a notice is explained to you in your language and who drafts the reply.
