What the cost of a company in Hungary is made of
The calculator covers the limited liability company (Kft.). Its registration is exempt from the court registration duty (Itv., section 45 (1a)), whether the members sign the model founding document in the simplified procedure or draft their own articles in the standard procedure. The government portal lists a registration fee of HUF 0 and a chamber of commerce contribution of HUF 5,000, while lawyer, accountant and bank fees are variable. The authorities publish no amount for the publication cost under the 2026 registration act, and the lawyer’s fee is not regulated.
The minimum capital is HUF 3,000,000, and each member contributes at least HUF 100,000 (Civil Code, section 3:161); it can be paid within 2 years of registration. Legal representation is mandatory in the registration procedure (Act XCII of 2021, section 44, which replaced the Company Registration Act on 1 January 2026), so you register through a lawyer, who countersigns the founding document. The application is filed within 30 days of signing it. When nothing prevents it, an automatic procedure registers the company within one hour; otherwise a court officer decides within five working days. According to the government portal, the court usually registers a Kft. within 1 to 2 working days.
When a member is a foreign person without Hungarian residence, the company names a process agent (section 46 of the same act). The fees of the process agent and of a registered seat service are not regulated.
Each year the company publishes its annual report, which goes only through the registration portal, and pays the chamber of commerce contribution of HUF 5,000 by 31 March (Gkt., section 34/A). Accounting is a professional fee, not an official one.
Six firms on Accountanty publish a starting price for formation and six for yearly accounting, so the calculator shows their range; two firms offer a registered office, with the price on request. The official fees above are separate from what a firm charges for its services, which depend on your members, activity and turnover: ask each firm to show the two apart in its quote.
