View profile of Scordis, Papapetrou & Co LLCA company in Cyprus must register for VAT when its taxable supplies pass the threshold set by the Registrar of Companies guidance, which gives €15,600 over the last twelve consecutive months or in the next thirty days, as described on its post-incorporation page. Many companies register earlier, because registering lets them reclaim VAT on costs and is often expected by business customers.
VAT in Cyprus gets harder with cross-border trade: selling services to other EU businesses, shipping goods across borders, or supplying online to consumers. Ask a firm how it handles registration, quarterly returns and the EU sales listings, and whether it can tell you where VAT is due on each type of sale. Profiles show the industries each firm names; shipping and real estate are common here and have their own VAT treatment.
Accountanty lists 211 firms in Cyprus that offer VAT: 148 accounting firms, 52 corporate services providers and 11 law firms. Among the languages on profiles, English appears 117 times, Greek 38 times and Russian 35 times, and 149 count clients from abroad among theirs. Sixteen publish pricing. Compare practices in Limassol, Larnaca or Paphos, or read the country guide first.

You can, and many companies do, to reclaim VAT on costs and to invoice business customers in the normal way. Ask a firm to compare early registration with waiting for your expected turnover.
It depends on the customer, the type of service and where it is supplied. Services to businesses in other EU countries are often treated differently from consumer sales. A VAT adviser should map your invoices first.
Returns follow a periodic cycle set by the tax authority, commonly quarterly for smaller businesses. Your firm will confirm the cycle that applies and keep a calendar of deadlines.
