View profile of Maas Accountants en AdviseursThe Hague has 18 firms on Accountanty, and 17 of them are accounting firms; the remaining one is a corporate service provider. Fourteen are small, three medium-sized and one is part of a large network. The list is built around the recurring work of a running company, the books, the returns and the payroll, more than around setting one up: only five Hague firms offer company formation, one lists corporate secretarial work and none a virtual office.

View profile of Zuydam KonsultConstruction is the sector named most by firms in The Hague, by four of them, and IT, e-commerce and hospitality follow with two each. The rest is a long list of single mentions: business services, online retail, digital services, SaaS, crypto, clothing and apparel, NGOs, start-ups, family businesses, healthcare, media and international trade and distribution. The online thread is noticeable, so a founder selling to consumers across the EU should ask which of these firms already files VAT for web shops.
SMEs are the client group named most, by six firms, then expats by four, and private individuals, non-residents, multinational companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs by two each. Single profiles describe foreign entrepreneurs starting in the Netherlands, foreign companies with Dutch subsidiaries, Indian companies, owner-directors of local SMEs, self-employed workers, Bulgarians living and working in the country and clients who speak Polish, Russian or Ukrainian. Foreign clients are a stated focus for 16 of the 18 firms on this list.
The languages follow those clients. English is offered by 15 Hague firms and Dutch by 14, Russian by three, and Polish and Spanish by two each. Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Chinese, German, Italian and Japanese are each offered by one, and the Italian-speaking firm also appears on the page for Italian-speaking accountants in the Netherlands.
All 18 handle tax compliance and 14 keep accounts. Thirteen handle VAT and 13 run payroll, a high share for a list this size. Four offer audit, three help with bank accounts and three with residence and visas.
The credentials declared here lean towards tax. One firm says it has a horizontal monitoring covenant with the Dutch Tax Administration. Others mention registration as a tax intermediary with the Belastingdienst, membership of the NOB and the Register Belastingadviseurs for tax advisers, the NBA for accountants, NIRPA for payroll and NBBU for staffing firms. Five state a founding year, the oldest 1975 and the median 2013, and six publish some of their prices.
If your company is already formed, or will be formed elsewhere, The Hague list is well suited to the monthly and annual work that follows. Ask each firm which returns it files without your input, how it reports to owners abroad and in which language. If you still need the company set up, ask whether the firm handles the formation itself or passes it to a notary and a formation provider, and compare the company formation page. A larger choice of formation and secretarial providers is in Amsterdam, and Rotterdam has 25 more firms. To reach several Hague firms at once, send one quote request.
Eighteen. Seventeen are accounting firms and one is a corporate service provider, and 14 of the 18 are small. All of them handle tax compliance, and 16 say they work with foreign clients.
Five firms in The Hague offer company formation. The list is stronger on the work that follows: 14 keep accounts and 13 run payroll. Ask whether the firm forms the company itself or works with a notary.
Fifteen of the 18 firms work in English and 14 in Dutch. Russian follows with three firms, then Polish and Spanish with two, and Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Chinese, German, Italian and Japanese with one each.
E-commerce is named by two firms, and online retail, digital services and SaaS by one each. Ask how the firm handles VAT on sales to consumers in other EU countries before you sign an engagement letter.
